The Rigg, Arkengarthdale

Set in an enclosed garden, with an acre of woodland, holiday homes at The Rigg enjoy views of dramatic moorland scenery

Built before 1658, The Rigg is a delightful stone house situated in Arkengarthdale, four miles north west of Reeth. The original building has been extensively modernised to form two spacious and comfortably furnished holiday homes sleeping 8-9. In 1980 a third house was added which the owners occupy.

The houses have all modern conveniences, central heating, Aga cookers, open fires, logs in winter. Full details of the houses.

The Rigg has an enclosed garden to the front and side, and an acre of woodland to the rear. It overlooks a broad expanse of dramatic moorland and the village of Langthwaite, famous as a TV location for the James Herriot stories.
